“Magnificently unique,” “a tour de force,” “unmatched verve” — critics are unanimous. Ô-Celli captivates audiences by pushing the boundaries of the cello and inviting listeners on a truly singular journey.

Since 2011, the year of their first concerts, the Eight from Brussels have embraced a single guiding principle: pleasure! The pleasure they share on the road and on stages across Europe and Canada, the pleasure they see reflected in the audience’s eyes, and the pleasure of continuing to create new projects. 15 years later, with four albums recorded and dozens of original arrangements to their name, it is still friendship and a passion for their instrument that drive them forward.

The unique resonance of the cello, multiplied by eight, lends a cathedral-like sound to the works reimagined and arranged by these musicians. Ô-Celli brings together cellists from leading European orchestras: the Orchestre National de France, the Orchestre de Paris, the Opéra de Paris, the Radio France Philharmonic, La Monnaie in Brussels, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège. They are, of course, classically trained musicians—but above all, artists in tune with their time, open to the world and its diversity.

Their concerts are invitations to travel—through time and across stylistic borders. From Verdi to Queen, from Strauss to John Williams, “in the end, it’s always the music that wins” (Michel Legrand).
